ITINERARY

Days 1-2: DELHI

We begin in Delhi where we spend a few days acclimating and resting from long travels overseas. Plus, we will dine in some of our favorite Delhi restaurants and see some fabulous sites like the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib (Sikh temples of worship)!

Days 3-4: AGRA

From Delhi we travel by van to Agra to visit the one and only Taj Mahal! One cannot visit India without seeing this spectacular palace on it's massive 42 acre property! It is a sight to behold!

Days 4-8: JAIPUR (& surrounding areas)

Then we venture to the majestic state of Rajasthan (land of kings) for the rest of our tour... home of Kalbelia Gypsies, painted camels, hundreds of temples, epic forts & palaces, delicious food and the best shopping! Rajasthan is culturally rich and its art, music and dance traditions reflect an ancient way of life. Prepare to be inspired and awed by the beauty and vibrance here!

We start in Jaipur, the capital city. Not only is Jaipur home to incredible historical and ancient sites, famous foods and treats and fine dining, it is where we will learn about hand block printing, indigo dying as well as other handicrafts. Enjoy the glorious selection of textiles and designs and see how they have been creating such beauty for many many years!

Next we visit Pushkar, a pilgrimage site where will stay near the beautiful holy Pushkar Lake... and enjoy sunset drumming, visit many incredible temples, take lovely nature walks and hikes, and participate in cooking classes & a private lake Puja for our group.

Next we venture to Udaipur, a place fit for queens and kings, where you indeed feel like royalty! We will enjoy a serene sunset boat cruise, traditional Rajasthani music & dance concert, visit the very opulent City Palace and explore shops, cafes, temples and the lush nature that surrounds this magical city!

We finally make our way back to Delhi (via flight) to say our "goodbyes" and "see you later"!

All of the details taken care of for you...

Your lovely guides will arrange for all of our travel needs (hotel booking, train and bus tickets, plus one group meal per day).

Hotels will be average of 4 stars and we choose smaller, more charming boutique places whenever possible! Expect to travel by plane, train, taxi van, and rikshaws (tuk tuk's)! Some of the journeys will be several hours long... a small travel pillow may benefit you! Every day will include at least one group activity, but there will be plenty of time for exploration, relaxation, and solitude.

Our goal is to provide an experience that is gently guided and safe, yet with room for much freedom, less time constraints or structure.

We will not be rushing around but savoring each special place on our tour. This will give you the opportunity to connect to the land, people, animals in a deeper way.

“I so enjoyed this past year’s adventure…..hope to go again in 2 years!”
